What are the live badge

With the monetization of the IGTV, such as the spoiler recited at the start of the article, a new function of «live badge» arrives which allows followers to give real money in exchange for unique and personalized characteristics which can be used during the direct.

As you can see in the image below, users will be able to buy badges, like a heart, which will appear next to their name during a direct.

This will allow the user to stand out from the mass and show the world of its support for creators, in this way the platform and the creator itself will attract an economic advantage.

Instagram tells us that he has on this subject:

«The badge will appear next to the user’s name during live video. Fans who bought the badge will be present in the comments and will have other possibilities.»

The process is very similar to the stars system for the payments of the streamers seen on Facebook and that used by YouTube and Twitch during the direct.

On Instagram, in fact, users will be able to buy different heart -shaped badges, at least € 0.99 for a heart up to € 4.99 to have three. As the platform points out, streamers will be able to see which subscribers bought the badges (and have therefore made a donation) and will be able to mention them live and thank them in public.

According to Instagram, last February, thanks to this feature, there was a 70% increase in spectators in live streaming IG TV, just as people were looking for a way to connect with the world during the pandemic.

This increase in the use of Instagram television was the bulb that convinced the team that experienced by inserting the insignia live.

Apparently, as soon as the function is available, Instagram will not immediately start to gain user purchases, but will evaluate growth and will only take a tranche if the badges are actually purchased.
